In Laker Sports news for Monday, October 5th:

***The Laker boys soccer team was in action over the weekend. The Lakers played host to Hart County on Saturday, losing the match 2 to 0. Both the Lady Lakers and Laker boys teams will be in action on Monday as both teams will host Casey County at the Laker soccer field. The girls soccer game against Casey County will start at 6 o’clock, with the boys game to follow.

***In 6th grade girls basketball action on Saturday, the RCMS 6th graders defeated Wayne County in a doubleheader, winning the first game 25 to 18 and the second game 37 to 5. Carrigan Carpenter had 9 points and Camdin Cooper had 8 points to lead the 6th graders in scoring. The RCMS girls basketball teams will be off this week due to fall break.
