Dear Parents/Guardians,
This year, the youth league will consist of second through fifth grade boys. The second and third graders will be divided into teams as evenly as possible and compete separately from the fourth and fifth grade boys who will also be divided as evenly as possible. The maximum number of teams allowed for this particular season is six per grade division. Attached is a registration form with dates for sign-ups. You may mail your registration forms in but they MUST be received by October 23rd. I recommend using one of the drop off times but the mailing address is:

As stated above, the last day to sign-up for youth league will be October 23rd. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, guidance, and plan that must be submitted to the Lake Cumberland Health Department, this is absolutely the last day that any form can be accepted. Players will be assigned a team on Monday, October 26th and the coach of that team will be in contact with you about practices. Games will begin on November 9th for 2nd and 3rd grade and November 12th for 4th and 5th grade. Each team will play five games followed by a single elimination tournament.
It is important to know that social distancing and safety/health protocols will be in place on game days. Each person that enters the gym will have their temperature checked and will fill out a form for contact tracing purposes. Both sides of the gymnasium will be available for seating and masks will be required by everyone who enters the building. Accommodations will be made for individuals with underlying health conditions that may prohibit them wearing a face covering. Players will be required to wear a mask upon entering the school and on the bench, but will not be required to wear one during game play.
As always, I am a firm believer that youth development is a key component of building a varsity basketball program. This league is designed to help players with their fundamental skills and develop a love for the game. Please remember that most of these games are officiated and coached by my players or people that have volunteered their time. Please respect that, it’s not Game Seven of the NBA Finals, support your son and his team. I am looking forward to another year of Laker Basketball. Go Lakers!
