A Russell County man was arrested early Tuesday morning in Adair County on drug charges.
According to reports, 21 year old Logan Baker of Russell Springs was arrested following a stop of his vehicle shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Adair County Deputy Joey Keith initiated a traffic stop on highway 55 for an alleged moving equipment violation. During the stop, Deputy Keith suspected the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. As the result of a subsequent vehicle search, methamphetamine and a handgun were located.
Baker was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, Methamphetamine
Authorities say additional charges are pending and the matter remains under investigation by Deputy Keith, who was assisted by Chief Deputy Justin Cross and Columbia Police Department Officer Trevor Foster.
