Josh Branscum Elected State Representative

 Josh Branscum is the new State Representative-Elect for Russell County and the 83rd district.

Final vote results were released yesterday in Russell, Clinton and Cumberland counties and Branscum defeated his opponent, Mark Polston, by just over 1200 votes district wide.

Here in Russell County, the race was very close, as Branscum carried his home county by 118 votes.   Branscum received 2,007 votes while Polston garnered 1,889 in Russell County.   However, in Clinton and Cumberland counties, Branscum pulled away, winning Clinton county by 826 votes and winning Cumberland county by 499 votes.   Polston carried Pulaski County by about 230 votes.

Branscum is unopposed in the November general election and will take office in Frankfort in early January.
