An Adair County man has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office after a large quantity of methamphetamine was located following a traffic stop.
At approximately 8:20 yesterday morning, Adair County Chief Deputy Justin Cross initiated a traffic stop on Tutt Street in Columbia of a 2001 GMC. Roadside investigation led to the suspicion that narcotics were present in the vehicle.
City of Columbia police officer Evan Burton deployed his K-9 on the vehicle, which resulted in a search of the vehicle and the discovery of 151 grams of methamphetamine, with a street value of over 15,000 dollars.
Arrested was 21-year-old Christopher Dickson of Columbia. Dickson was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
