Two persons were arrested early Saturday morning following a traffic stop in Russell Springs.
22-year-old Glen Blankenship of Russell Springs and 33-year-old Fernando Lopez-Lucero were both arrested after Russell Springs police officer Lucas Justice stopped a vehicle on Highway 80.
Reports are that as Officer Justice stopped the vehicle, a clear bag was thrown from the vehicle, which was located and contained a white, clear substance, believed to be methamphetamine. Blankenship and Lucero were both charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, first degree, Methamphetamine and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Both men were lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. Deputy Sheriff Jared Pierce and Jamestown officer Jeremy England assisted Justice in the investigation.
A Russell Springs man was arrested early Sunday morning on drug trafficking and other charges.
30-year-old Anthony Cook was arrested by Officer Dustin Bunch of the Russell Springs Police Department, charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Degree, Methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance, second degree; possession of drug paraphernalia, and several motor vehicles related offenses.
Cook was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center shortly before 2 o’clock Sunday morning.
An investigation last night has left a Richmond, Kentucky man in custody on Rape and other charges.
Following an investigation, Deputy Corey Meyer arrested 34 year Jonathan Carnes on charges of first degree Rape, Sexual Abuse in Second Degree, and Sexual Misconduct. Carnes was lodged in the Russell County Detention center around 10:30 last evening.
