This year’s annual Lakefest Celebration in downtown Jamestown has been cancelled.
In a statement to WJRS News on Sunday, Mayor Nick Shearer said he had received a letter from the Lake Cumberland District Health Department stating the event must be cancelled due to the continuing fight against COVID-19.
The letter from the Health Department says at this time they are operating under the Executive Order issued by Governor Andy Beshear that will prohibit such an event to be held due to the social distancing requirements and the ban on groups of 50 or more people being allowed to gather.
