Propane Smell Leads to Jamestown Fire Department Being Dispatched

A strong smell of propane gas led to the Jamestown Fire Department responding to a business south of town.

Fire Chief Jeff Landers told WJRS News his department was called out around 8:30 last evening to Striper’s Boat Storage, located on highway 92 known as the Boat Dock Road.

Upon arrival and investigation, it was discovered an overheated battery charging on a boat was the reason.   Firemen were on the scene a very short time and no damage was reported.
