Alcohol was a Factor in Fatal Accident Tuesday

Local law enforcement authorities say alcohol was a contributing factor in the two-vehicle wreck on Tuesday night which claimed the life of a young Casey County man.

26 year-old Janson Sallee was killed when the vehicle in which he was passenger, a 2020 Silverado being operated by Hayden Cain, reportedly attempted to pass another vehicle near the Russell Casey county line around 7 o’clock Tuesday. Reports are the Cain vehicle came into the path of another vehicle, striking that vehicle, then left the roadway and overturned several times. Sallee was unresponsive at the scene and was later pronounced dead at the Russell County Hospital.

Authorities tell WJRS News the accident scene reconstruction which is being done by the Kentucky State Police is not yet complete. Russell County Deputy Luke Hughes is heading the investigation for local law enforcement.
