School Officials Discussing Plans for End of Year Activities

Plans for graduation and other end of year activities are still being discussed in light of Monday’s announcement that there would be no further in-person classes for Russell County students for the remainder of the year.

Also yesterday, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced that all spring sports, including baseball and softball, were cancelled.

WJRS News talked with Russell County High School principal Darren Gossage about the process underway to make decisions regarding graduation and other events…

Gossage said it was really important for all students, and especially high school seniors to complete their Non Traditional Instruction, or NTI, work in a timely manner.   Also, he encouraged seniors to be mindful of deadlines for certain scholarships and applications…

Gossage said he hoped to have more definitive plans on graduation and other matters very soon.
