For the second day in a row, Russell County had no new confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Judge-Executive Gary Robertson made the announcement on Wednesday evening.
The county has still had a total of 16 cases, one was released from isolation Wednesday, making a total of 8 cases released. There have been two deaths and there are now six active cases that are on self-isolation in either the nursing home or self-isolated at home.
Unfortunately, neighboring Adair County reported on Wednesday evening eight new confirmed cases and one additional death. All residents of Summit Manor Nursing Home.
This now makes 64 total cases with six being released and five deaths.
Adair now has 53 active cases with 39 in home or Summit Manor Isolation and 14 in area hospitals.
