There were 1,943 new cases being reported with 21,000 confirmed cases statewide for this flu season.
There have been 80 total deaths from the flu in Kentucky this year, four of which were under the age of 18.
Luckily, here in the Lake Cumberland Area, flu activity was minimal with eight new cases being confirmed in the area. Adair had four, Casey and Pulaski each with two new cases. The rest of the counties, including Russell, had zero confirmed flu cases last week.
