Record Number of Deer Harvested

A record number of deer were harvested during the recent modern firearm season here in Kentucky, according to the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
Hunters killed around 107,000 deer during the 16-day season that ended in late November, up from the 106,800 deer killed in 2018. Here in Russell County, a total of 406 deer have been taken in 2019, with 358 of those being male while 48 have been female. A total of 310 of the 406 taken was with a firearm.
Archery season continues for deer with muzzleloader season upcoming from December 14th through the 22nd.
