During the month of September there were 15 traffic accidents investigated by the Stat Police working in the Post 15 area, which includes Russell County.
There was one fatal collision: Ashley Coulter, 33, of Nelson County was killed on September 8th in Casey County.
This brings the yearly fatality count to 17 compared with 20 through this same period in 2018. The statewide fatality count stands at 566 compared with 539 through this same period in 2018.
During the month of September 2019, there were 955 citations written, 241 courtesy notices written, 518 complaints answered, 119 motorists assisted, 42 criminal cases opened and 317 criminal arrests made.
