Two Vehicle Crash Sends Woman to Local Hospital Tuesday Afternoon

A two-vehicle crash just before 3:00 pm Tuesday in Russell Springs sent a local woman to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the Russell Springs Police Department. The collision occurred at Old Columbia Road and Shepherd Drive when, according to police, a 2015 Nissan Sentra being driven by Shelby J. Smith, 77, of Russell Springs, failed to yield the right of way and turned off Shepherd Drive on to Old Columbia Road and into the pathway of a southbound 2002 Toyota Camry being driven by Christopher K. Smith, 39, of Russell Springs. Smith was transported from the scene to Russell County Hospital by Russell County EMS. Neither Smith or his passenger, Jack Sorrell, 30, of Dunnville, were injured in the crash. RSPD Officer Matthew Parrish investigated the accident
