A reminder than a burn ban is now in effect in Russell County due to the extremely dry conditions. Russell County Judge-Executive Gary Robertson issued an executive order on the matter Friday afternoon saying that all open burning is now off limits. The order states that anyone violating the ban can be subject to fines and penalties. The ban is in effect until further notice.
