WKU, SCC Sign Agreement

Western Kentucky University and Somerset Community College have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University Center of Southern Kentucky.

The University Center of Southern Kentucky will give students around the Lake Cumberland area the opportunity to earn their full bachelor’s degree locally without having to move away from home. Students can complete their associate degree at the Somerset Community College and then complete their bachelor’s degree with WKU. UK signed their agreement with SCC last week.

The current types of programs offered through the University Center of Southern Kentucky are in hybrid or online format. Additional programs from WKU will be added to the University Center offerings in 2020.

Under the agreement, student’s complete half of the degree at SCC’s tuition rate and the other half of the bachelor’s degree from WKU, allowing an affordable bachelor’s degree from a four-year university close to home.
