Local Hospital Sees Increase in Cash

Russell County Hospital saw an increase in cash from the previous month of $196,637, leaving a month end cash balance of just over $7.1 million. The facility’s day’s cash on hand is now at 100. For the month of July, the outpatient areas of surgery with 99, mammography with 60, CT scans with 376 and ultrasounds with 186 exceeded their budgeted volumes. According to hospital CFO Janie Landis, the facility’s net operating income had a “pleasant sight” of $7,105 and a net income of $16,205 with tax revenue. Landis presented these figures the hospital’s board of directors during their August monthly meeting late last week.
