This past Saturday, the Kentucky State Police experienced a heightened level of activity at the Kentucky state fairgrounds in Louisville during the Kentucky State Fair. Large groups of juveniles were congregating and setting off firecrackers in different locations and several individuals reported there may have been an active shooter after hearing these incidents.
State police say there was not an active shooter on the fairgrounds property and KSP detectives continue to investigate a report of a single gunshot fired into the air by a juvenile male. No injuries were reported.
Again, state police say there are no perceived threats to the public or visitors of the Kentucky State Fair. The fair runs through August 25th.
