Indictments were Handed Up Monday

The Russell County Grand Jury met on Monday and handed up indictments on 13 individuals on a variety of charges, according to court records.

The following were indicted by the grand jury:

  • Ronnie D. Lawless, 62, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, a class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
  • Danny L. Malone, 76, was charged with criminal attempt to commit kidnapping, a class C felony.
  • Cayce Fowler, 21, was charged with bail jumping, 1st degree, a class D felony.
  • Sara Maynard, 21, was charged with bail jumping, 1st degree, a class D felony.
  • Neil M. Bloyd, 46, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, while in possession of a firearm, a class C felony, license plate not legible, and possession of an open alcohol beverage container.
  • Alan R. Leischner, 21, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, a class D felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor, no tail lamps, no insurance, improper registration, and failure to display hardship driving privilege decal.
  • Christopher Flanagan, 41, Jonathan A. Richard, 29, and Joseph Bolin, 46, were each charged with burglary, 2nd degree, a class C felony, theft by unlawful taking over $500, a class D felony, criminal mischief, 1st degree, a class D felony, and possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, a class D felony. Both Bolin and Richard were charged with being a persistent felony offender, 2nd degree, and Flanagan was charged with being a persistent felony offender, 1st degree.
  • Curtis D. Montgomery, 25, was charged with DUI, 4th or greater offense, a class D felony, wanton endangerment, 1st degree, a class D felony, driving on a DUI suspended license, 2nd offense, a class D felony, no insurance, and no/expired registration plates.
  • Brandon Stinson, 26, was charged with burglary, 1st degree, a class B felony, two counts of assault, 2nd degree, a class C felony, and two counts of wanton endangerment, 1st degree, a class D felony.
  • Justin C. Belt, 31, was charged with DUI, 2nd or greater offense, two counts of wanton endangerment, 1st degree, a class D felony, fleeing or evading police, 1st degree, a class D felony, resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, and menacing, a class A misdemeanor.
  • Eldon R. Passmore, 35, was charged with fleeing or evading police, 1st degree, a class D felony, and wanton endangerment, 1st degree, a class D felony.

WJRS would like to remind everyone that an indictment is only an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial, at which time their guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
