Structure Fire Occurred Wednesday

The Russell Springs Fire Department was called out to a structure fire on West Steve Wariner Dr. around 3:45 Wednesday afternoon, according to Fire Chief HM Bottom. The structure, which was owned by Larry Sullivan, was unoccupied and being torn down at the time of the blaze. Bottom said that a brush pile had been lit but was not being tended to when the fire spread to the garage. The structure was a total loss despite being quickly extinguished by firefighters once they arrived on scene. The Sullivan home’s exterior also sustained some fire and smoke damage. The fire department was on the scene for approximately one hour.
