Two RS Men Arrested on Drug Charges

This past Friday night, a quantity of methamphetamine and numerous narcotics that were allegedly being sold were seized after the search of a residence on Melissa Drive off of Old Sano Rd., according to Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston.

Ralph Neers, 63, was arrested by Deputy Kenny Perkins and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree and trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense or more. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are forthcoming, according to Polston.

Deputies Luke Hughes, Nathan Bradshaw and Adair County Deputy Sheriff Josh Durbin and his K-9 partner Nitro assisted at the scene. In the continuing effort by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office to combat illegal drugs in Russell County, an early morning search warrant today has resulted in the discovery of a quantity of meth, pills, the recovery of a stolen pickup out of Missouri and the arrest of two individuals on C. Weston Road off of Hwy 76 in the Fonthill area of Russell County, according to Sheriff Derek Polston.

Bobby Beard, 48, of Russell Springs was arrested and charged with Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree meth 2nd offense, Criminal Possession of a forged Instrument 1st degree, Illegal possession of a legend Drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested at the scene was Teri Bright, 34, of Missouri. She was charged with Receiving Stolen property $10,000 or more by having in her possession a stolen 2012 Dodge Pickup truck out of Missouri. Both were lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. The investigation continues by Deputy David Cain and more arrests could be forthcoming, according to Polston. Deputy Cain was assisted by Chief Deputy Jerry Melton and Deputies Kenny Perkins, Nathan Bradshaw, Nathan Ginn, John Wine and Columbia Police officer Johnny Dial and his K-9 partner, Gunner.
