Columbia Man Arrested in RS on Drug and Other Charges

Early Monday morning, Russell Springs Police Officer Ethan Pike observed a vehicle with expired registration and conducted a traffic stop.

During the investigation, Officer Pike requested assistance by Columbia Police Department Officer Kevin Atwood and his K9 partner, Annie, who alerted on the vehicle.

Inside, officers located an amount of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia. As a result, William K. Miller, 27, of Columbia was arrested and charged with possession controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (meth), possession of marijuana, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, no registration plates, no registration receipt, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance 1st, failure to produce insurance card, drug paraphernalia-buy/possess, and license to be in possession.

Russell County Deputy Nathan Ginn also assisted at the scene.

Miller was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
