A Jamestown woman was injured when her vehicle was struck from the side while “rounding the monument square” in Jamestown. JPD Lt. Tony King says the incident occurred just before 6:30 Saturday morning when a late-model Toyota pickup driven by Carl Banks, 77, of Owenton, did not yield to oncoming traffic as he attempted to continue onto Ky. 92 “the Boat Dock Road” from North Main Street. Banks’ truck hit a 1989 GMC pickup being driven by Grace Hall, 87, of Jamestown causing her truck to “turn 90 degrees and strike the Doughboy monument”. Mrs. Hall was transported by the Russell County EMS to the Russell County Hospital where she was treated and later released. Banks and a passenger in his truck were not injured.
