Laker Sports Report, Tuesday, January 24th

On Saturday, The Laker Bowling team hosted the Nelson County Cardinals and the Thomas Nelson Generals. This match was bowled in a tournament format with the Laker boys finishing in first place overall. The Lady Lakers scores was all over their averages but fell short and finished in third place overall. High scores for the boys was Zach Kean 233 and Andy O’Dell 221. Their high baker game for the match was 227. High scores for the girls was Kayla Kean 169 and Brooklynne Carroll 150. Their high baker game was 127. The Laker Bowling team will travel to Phillips Lanes in Campbellsville on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Region 2 tournament.

The Russell County Middle School 7th grade boys played Hart County in the semi-final conference game at Adair County Monday night. Russell County won 54-42. Leading the Lakers was Clay Ferguson with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Nathan Lawson 17 points and 7 rebounds. The Lakers will play in the championship game Thursday night.

The Russell County High School Swim Team will be hosting E’town, Bethlehem, and Allen County on Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m.

On Monday the Russell County High School Lady Lakers and Lakers were in action last night at home against Cumberland County in a girl boy double header. With more on the games here’s Derek Aaron.
