On Saturday, the Laker Bowling Team traveled to Danville to compete in the Baker Bonanza.
The tournament format was 14 Baker style games with the top four teams going into a finals competition. Our Lady Lakers bowled against 13 teams from across the state, they had a 129 average through the 14 games and finished in 11th place. Our Laker boys bowled against 18 teams from across the state, that had a 201 average though the 14 games putting them in 3rd place earning a spot in the finals. The first round in finals put our Lakers against Boyle County, the defending state champions. Through 5 intense and close games our Lakers came out on top winning 3 games to 2 putting them in the championship match against Daviess County. Through 5 more close games our Lakers fell short with 2 wins and losses.
The Lady Lakers defeated Warren Central by score of 66-20. The Lady Lakers improve to 8-1 on the season.
Amelia Ackerman and Jaylen Elmore led all scorers with 11 each.
