The RCHS Laker Dive Team traveled to Barbourville on Saturday to compete in the Snowball Invitational. The divers had a very successful meet.
Emma Rae Phillips placed 1st
Gage Lawson placed 2nd
Max Lawson placed 3rd
Dawson Haydon placed 4th.
The Lakers are hosting Meade, Pulaski, & Southwestern on Tuesday night in their last regular season meet of the season. This will also be Senior night, as we honor our lone Senior, Gage Lawson. The dive meet will begin at 4:30 with the swim meet beginning at 5:30.
On Friday the Laker Bowling team traveled to Phillips Lanes in Campbellsville to compete in the 2nd Region Tournament. Our Lady Lakers were defeated by the Green County Dragons 3 games to 2 in the first round of regional competition. Ending their season with 3 wins and 14 losses. Our Lakers were defeated by the North Hardin Trojans 3 games to 0 in the second round of regional competition. Ending their season with 15 wins and 2 losses. On Saturday our top 4 Lakers and Lady Lakers returned to Phillips Lanes and competed in singles competition. For the Lady Lakers Brooklynne Carroll finished in 20th place, Kayla Kean finished in 29th place, Korrin Therrien finished in 42nd place, and Makayla Melson finished in 44th place. For our Laker boys Kendall Bunch finished in 15th place, Andy O’Dell finished in 10th place, Clay Loveless finished in 9th place, and Zach Kean a 8th grader took top honors and was named the 2nd Region Champion and will compete in the State Tournament at Eastland Bowling Center in Lexington on February 9th at 10:30 CT.
Tonight the Russell County Lady Lakers are on the road at the Casey County Lady Rebels. Tip off is set for 6:30 p.m. We encourage everyone to come out and attend the game, but if you can’t make it out, Derek Aaron and Shawn Coffey will have all the action on Laker Country 104.9 FM WJRS with pre game beginning around 6:20.
