Laker Sports Report, Friday, January 13th

The Russell County Middle School boys played host to Hart County on Thursday night. The 7th grade won 59-40. Leading the lakers were

  • Grant King 12 points and 1 steal
  • Maxon Gosser with 11 points and 7 rebounds

The 8th grade also won their matchup 50-31. Leading the 8th graders were

  • Scott Hamm 16 points and 11 rebounds
  • CJ Vonfumetti 8 points and 3 steals

On Thursday the Laker Bowling team traveled to Campbellsville to take on the Taylor County Cardinals. The Laker Boys finished with 1 win and 6 losses with 3 of the games being separated by only a few pins. The Lady Lakers finished with 0 wins and 7 losses. High scores for the boys was Kendall Bunch 243 and Andy O’Dell 219. High scores for the girls was Brooklynne Carroll 170 and Korrin Therrien 136. The Laker Bowling teams next match is Saturday morning as they will take on Campbellsville at 9:00 a.m. and then Barren County at 1:00 p.m. at Laker Lanes in Russell Springs.

Tonight the Russell County Lakers and Lady Lakers will be at home to face Clinton County in a girl boy doubleheader. We encourage everyone to attend the game but if cannot make it out to laker gym, we will have all the coverage for you on Laker Country 104.9fm WJRS with Derek Aaron and Shawn Coffey. Pre-game is set to begin around 5:50 with tip off for the girls at around 6:00 p.m.
