After announcing its verdict….the 7 woman, 5 man jury then recommended Williams be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years. Additionally, the jury recommended a 15 year sentence on a burglary charge and a 5 year sentence for tampering with physical evidence. The jury further recommended the sentences run consecutively.
Williams stands convicted of shooting Paul Montgomery to death at Montgomery’s mobile home residence in the Bryan community in December of 2006.
Another man, Danny Hill, was convicted in 2011 of “Facilitation to Murder” and “Tampering with Physical Evidence.” Hill was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Formal sentencing for 56 year old Steve Williams has been scheduled for March 11th before Circuit Judge Vernon Minniard, Jr.
