Hearing Held on Lawsuits Seeking to Force Meat Rendering Facility to Cease Operations

Attempts to close a Russell Springs business may soon be decided.

Thursday afternoon in Russell Circuit Court, Judge Vernon Miniard, Jr. heard several hours of testimony from residents who live near a meat rendering facility operated by A & S Proteins, Inc.  The company’s owner & CEO also testified during the proceedings.

Judge Miniard did not rule on the Plaintiff’s request for an injunction against A & S’ operations.  However, the Judge’s decision could come as early as next week.

WJRS NEWS will continue to follow this story and we will report on additional developments as they occur.
