The Girls’ 9th Region Tournament was held at Burnside on Wednesday, September 28th. The Russell County Lady Lakers competed against 16 teams from Region 9 with Williamsburg winning the tournament and Lady Lakers of Russell County finishing in 2nd place. In girls high school golf action Tuesday afternoon at Burnside Island State Park, the Russell County Lady Lakers finished second out of four teams competing. The Lady Lakers were led by Brianne Coe and Ryan Hoover, both shooting a 41; Jaleena Barnes had a 42; Kenna Richardson a 45, and Lesley Roy a 47.
