The National Weather Service visited northern Russell County Thursday morning to survey damage from Wednesday’s severe weather that affected numerous homes and buildings in the area.  The NWS determined that an EF-2 tornado did in fact touch down in northern Russell County.  The tornado was approximately 250 yards wide and traveled for four miles while on the ground.
