The Jamestown Fire Department was called out to a structure fire at the Bernard Ridge Church of God Wednesday morning.
The call came in just before 7:30 Wednesday morning, the Russell Springs Department was also dispatched out to assist with fighting the blaze.
According to Jamestown Fire Chief Jeff Landers, due to the departments quick response time the fire was quickly knocked down and contained to the front of the building. Landers said the majority of the damage occurred to the bathrooms and the upstairs loft at the front of the church.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No one was injured due to the blaze.
18 firemen from both departments responded to the fire, and they were on scene for about four hours.
