One person has been charged with numerous offenses in connection with break-ins at two local businesses late Wednesday night.
Wesley Carter, age 23, whose address is listed in Jamestown, was taken into custody around 1:30 Thursday afternoon by RSPD Asst. Chief Jamie Rogers and JPD Chief Derek Polston and charged with two counts of Burglary, two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Asst. Chief Rogers told WJRS NEWS the charges he filed are in connection with a burglary that occurred late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning at Jamestown Auto Sales in the Middletown community.
Chief Polston’s charges against Carter are in connection with a break-in at “Cool Stuff For You”….a wireless phone and electronics business next to Hubbard’s Auto Parts.
The break-ins at both businesses were discovered early Thursday morning. Asst. Chief Rogers confronted Carter after a report was called in that a man, appearing to be muddy and bloody, was seen coming out of an area of high weeds in the Middletown community just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Interviews of Carter, plus the recovery of most of the stolen property, resulted in his arrest. Carter was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
