Mobile Home Fire Claims Life of Jabez Man

** UPDATE ** Russell County Coroner Larry Skaggs told WJRS NEWS an autopsy revealed Parker Cain died from smoke inhalation.

A mobile home fire late Wednesday night claimed the life of a Jabez man.   Russell County Coroner Larry Skaggs told WJRS NEWS the victim has been identified as 50 year old Parker G. Cain.

The Nancy Fire Department was called to the Cain home on McClendon Lane, off of Richardson Road, late Wednesday night.  Cain was pronounced dead by Coroner Skaggs at 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Skaggs says “foul play is not suspected” at this time.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by KSP Detective Alex Wesley and the Nancy Fire Department.  An autopsy will be performed Friday at the State Medical Examiner’s office to determine the exact cause of Cain’s death.
