Coroner, KSP Investigating Child’s Death
** UPDATE ** Russell County Coroner Larry Skaggs told WJRS NEWS preliminary autopsy results indicate Kayidence Bunch died from complications from pneumonia. (updated 03/22/13 @ 12:05 p.m.)
An investigation is underway into the death of a young Russell County girl. Coroner Larry Skaggs told WJRS NEWS that Kayidence Bunch, age 7, died Thursday morning at her family’s residence just off Pine Top Road near the Russell-Casey county line. She was found unresponsive by her mother around 11:00 a.m. The Coroner says Kayidence had a prior medical condition and at this time “foul play is not suspected” in her death.
An autopsy will be performed at the State Medical Examiner’s office Friday to determine the exact cause of death. KSP Detective B.J. Burton and Coroner Skaggs continue their investigation.
