After more than two years and a failed attempt at a trial, Pamela Bennett (52) pleaded guilty Wednesday in Russell Circuit Court to a charge of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder.
In late 2010, Bennett, and her son Trevor Bennett were indicted on charges related to the shooting death of Felicia Eads which occurred the night of November 2nd of that year.
Last October, the Court’s first attempt to try Bennett was unsuccessful after a jury couldn’t be seated. Trevor Bennett pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in December of 2011 and was sentenced to 8 years.
After a “Jury Roll Call” Wednesday morning in Russell Circuit Court, Pamela Bennett accepted the plea bargain offered by Commonwealth’s Attorney Matthew Leveridge. With Bennett’s guilty plea, Leveridge recommended a sentence of 10 years to be served and that Bennett have no contact with the family of Felicia Eads.
Sentencing for Pamela Bennett is set for April 23rd.
