Murder-Suicide In Casey County Friday Night
State and local authorities are investigating a murder suicide that occurred late Friday night in the Gravel Switch community of Casey County.
Dead are Judith Duncil, age 52, and George Merrick, age 61, both of Gravel Switch.
According to State Police, the Casey County Dispatch received a call just before 11:45 Friday night reporting shots fired at a residence on Little South road. Upon arrival, police discovered Duncil’s and Merrick’s bodies lying on the porch of the residence.
Police say Duncil and Merrick were dating and Duncil was living at the residence when Merrick arrived looking for her. Investigators say a verbal argument ensued which led to Merrick retrieving a rifle from his truck….he then shot Duncil before turning the gun on himself.
The investigation continues and is being headed by KSP Detective Jamie Richard.
