The Russell County Public Library will soon expand services it offers thanks to a grant from the AT&T Foundation.

According to Director Lindsey Westerfield, the local library is being awarded $20,000 which will be used to implement several new programs including:

  • starting a Young Adult Summer Reading Program
  • creating a Russell County Youth Leadership Development Program
  • offering ACT & SAT Prep Classes
  • creating a New Young Adult College & Career Ready website

Members of the Library Board, County Judge-Executive Gary Robertson, State Representative Jeff Hoover, representatives from AT&T and officials from the Kentucky Department of Libraries attended a “check presentation ceremony” Tuesday morning at the library’s Main Branch on North Main Street in Jamestown.
