A Russell Springs woman was arrested just before noon Tuesday for allegedly making “methamphetamine” at a residence on Maple Street.
Melissa Jean Bottom, age 33, was taken into custody by RSPD Asst. Chief Jamie Rogers as she was attempting to flee the residence at 387 Maple Street, just moments after Rogers arrived.
Rogers told WJRS NEWS that Bottom tossed a “tote bag” behind the residence which contained various precursors and apparatus used to “cook meth”.
Bottom was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center on charges of “2nd Offense Manufacturing Methamphetamine” and with “Being A Persistent Felony Offender”.
RSPD Officer Matt Parrish and RCSO Deputies Clete McAninch and Nick Bertram….all certified in “meth lab processing and clean-up”….were called in to process the scene.
