Collision at 379 & 55 Intersection Injures Five

Five persons, including a small child, were taken to the Russell County Hospital for treatment and observation following a two vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in southern Russell County.

Deputy Sheriff David Cain told WJRS NEWS a 2004 Ford Explorer being driven by Lindsey Woodward, 20, of Columbia, was northbound on Ky. 379 and failed to yield at the intersection with Ky. 55, traveling into the path of a southbound 2000 Ford car being driven by Lisa Carman, 45, of Columbia.

Woodward and two passengers in her vehicle, Sabeth Hardin, 21, and 1 year old Alaina Lynch, both of Russell Springs….and Carman along with a passenger in her car, 42 year old Doug Crouch of Columbia, were all taken to the local hospital for treatment and observation.

That wreck occurred around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.
