For the first time in school history Russell County is 11-0 and advances to the second round of the playoffs. On Friday, The Russell County Laker Football team opened up class 4-A playoff action against the Marion County Knights. The Lakers would come out on top defeating Marion County 52-0. Leading the way offensively for the Lakers was senior RB Nick Britt (#28) with 15 carries 217 yards and 3 touchdowns. Defensively, LB Mason Short (#34) had 6 tackles. DB Blake Ellis (#3) had 5 tackles and 1 interception. NG Kennedy McFarland (#44) had 3 sacks. Russell County will be back at home next Friday, Nov 9th against the Boyle County Rebels at 7 p.m. in the second round of the class 4-A playoffs.
