Russell Springs Woman, Columbia Man Injured In Liberty Collision

A two vehicle accident just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday in Liberty sent a Russell County woman to the U.K. Hospital. Liberty Police Officer Ronnie Smith told WJRS NEWS that Bruce Luttrell, 52, of Casey County, was operating a 2012 Chevy Camaro which crossed the center line of U.S. 127 in Liberty and collided head-on with a vehicle being driven by 50 year old Donna Ryder of Russell Springs. Ryder was transported to the Casey County Hospital then airlifted to the U.K. Medical Center. A passenger in Ryder’s car, 77 year old Robert Jefferies of Columbia, was taken to the Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville for treatment of his injuries. Luttrell received minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
