Crash Claims Life of Jamestown Woman

A Jamestown woman was killed in a two vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Dunnville.

Casey County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Weddle told WJRS NEWS the victim is Lillie Poff, age 33.

According to Deputy Weddle, Poff was operating a 1995 Honda car, northbound on U.S. 127, when rounding a curve near the Dog Walk Market, Poff’s car crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with an “International Gate Truck” belonging to Tarter Gate Company.  Deputy Weddle said the driver of the gate truck, 51 year old Kevin Eads of Liberty, attempted to avoid the collision by trying to stop the truck, then steering into the opposite lane.  Poff’s car struck the passenger side of the gate truck, then continued into a nearby residential yard.

Poff was treated at the scene by the Casey County EMS and was air-lifted from the scene.  But soon thereafter, the emergency helicopter landed at the Casey County Hospital due to her worsening condition.  Poff died a short time later.

The driver of the truck was treated at the hospital in Liberty and later released.

That fatal collision occurred around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
