Slower Than Normal Session For Grand Jury

The Russell County Grand Jury met Tuesday in what appears to have been a slower than normal monthly session.  The Grand Jury returned indictments against five individuals, formally charging them with criminal offenses.  According to Circuit Court records, those charged by the Grand Jury include:

  • Brandon Roy, age 31 — Fleeing & Evading Police, Wanton Endangerment (2 counts) and with being a Persistent Felony Offender
  • Penny Wesley, age 38 — Forgery (4 counts) and with being a Persistent Felony Offender
  • Kristi Burton, age 28 — Theft By Deception Over $500 and with being a Persistent Felony Offender
  • Andrew Burton, age 30 — Theft By Deception Over $500
  • Neptali Puac-Domingo, age 20 — Theft of Identity

WJRS NEWS reminds you that an indictment is a legal accusation and “does not imply guilt”.  An indictment means “probable cause” was established for the charges and further court action is warranted in these matters.
