K.E.A. Debate Cancelled After Two Incumbent School Board Members Decline To Participate

A debate between local school board candidates sponsored by the Russell County office of the Kentucky Education Association has been cancelled.

The event was scheduled to take place Tuesday evening in Russell Springs but was cancelled Monday afternoon.  Officials with the local K.E.A. office told WJRS NEWS the debate was cancelled after incumbent school board members Debbie Haynes and Harry Kimbler said they would be unable to attend due to other commitments.

Their challengers, Brenda Higginbotham and Gerald Murray, had both agreed to participate in the forum.
