The Russell County Lakers held the Rockets of Rockcastle County scoreless while posting 37 points to win their district opener and remain undefeated on the season. The Lakers dominated the game, posting 474 total yards offensively while holding the Rockets to only 112 total yards.

The Lakers were led offensively by RB Nick Britt (#28) who carried the ball 14 times for 199 rushing yards and 4 TDs. Defensively, the Lakers were led by LB Mason Short (#34) with 6 tackles followed closely by LB Lucas Whittle (#16) and DE Nick Coffey (#31) with 6 tackles each.
