Murder Investigation Underway After Body Of Adair County Man Found At Tarter Gate Company

The body of an Adair County man was found late Wednesday night at the “pallet mill” at Tarter Gate Company in Dunnville….prompting a murder investigation by state and local authorities.
The body of 50 year old Wendell Pyles of Columbia was found just after 10:00 p.m. eastern time. Pyles had been shot in the head, according to police.
Investigators are asking that if anyone saw any suspicious vehicles, persons or activity in the vicinity of Tarter Gate Wednesday night to please call State Police at 1-800-222-5555 or the Casey County Sheriff’s Department at 606-787-6821.
