Lakers Post Impressive Win Over South Laurel, Now 3-0

Coach Bill Sharp’s Laker football team remains undefeated after an impressive 62-13 win over South Laurel at Ron Finley Field this past Friday night.  Senior QB Barton Mann was named the “Lakeland Insurance Offensive Player of the Game” after completing 11 of 16 passes for 207 yards with one TD by air and one rushing.  Mann carried the ball 5 times for 30 yards.  Other offensive stats include RB Nick Britt carrying the ball 11 times for 167 yards and 3 TDs.  RB Evan Fletcher rushed for 19 yards on 5 carries including one TD.  Receiving stats for the Lakers:  Blake Ellis caught 3 passes for 31 yards, Nick Britt had 4 receptions for 105 yards, Nick Coffey caught 2 passes for 19 yards, and Lucas Whittle has 2 receptions for 42 yards and one TD.

Sophomore DE Nick Coffey was named the “Lakeland Insurance Defensive Player of the Game” with 5 tackles and one interception which he ran back for a Laker touchdown.  Other defensive stats for the Lakers:  Hadley-9, Short-6, Fletcher-6, Whittle-5, Ellis-4, McFarland-4, Deck-3, Mann-3.  Wes Fletcher, Kerr, Kerns, Golden and Bennett all has 2 tackles each.

The Lakers will be at home again this coming Friday, September 7th to host Pulaski County.  This is homecoming week at RCHS!
