The Russell County Lakers and Lady Lakers went on the road Tuesday night for their first girl-boy doubleheader of the year as they traveled to Tompkinsville to take on Monroe County. The Lady Falcons of Monroe County, the top ranked team in the 4th region, had an easy time defeating the Lady Lakers 92-62. Lee Ann Grider had 19 points and Baylee Hadley had a career high 14 for the Lady Lakers, who are now 4-2 on the season.
In the boys game, the Lakers remain undefeated on the season, defeating Monroe County 48-30 in a very low scoring contest. Tyler Roberston had 15 points and Blake Ellis finished with 12 for the Lakers, who are now 4-0 on the season. Both teams will be at home Thursday night for a girl-boy doubleheader with Metcalfe County at Laker gym.
